Georgia Beatty is a fiddler and songwriter.
Georgia plays Scandinavian traditional music on both the ‘flat fiddle’ (regular violin) and the Norwegian hardingfele (Hardanger fiddle). She can be found joyously playing for dances with the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America, Mid-Atlantic Norwegian Dancers, Scandia DC and Scandia NYC.
Her first EP Hi I’m Me was made in 2017, in a small garden shed on the coast of the Burren, Co. Clare, Ireland. Other projects have included buried: field recordings, a collection of improvised performances with underground spaces and music for crankies (illustrated scrolls). Georgia is working on her next collection of songs under the title, Apprentice to Transformation, with plans to release the album Fall 2022.
She was born on stolen land of the Piscataway Conoy Nation, so-called Baltimore, Maryland, and continues to live and work throughout the US today.
